Karin Renner
Whistles and Harp
Karin started her musical career on piano and then, at the age of 16, fell in love with the harp. Her main focus then lay on Irish and Scottish music. With growin interest for Scandinavian and Breton music she started to pick up other instruments such as tin whistle, low whistle, diatonic accordion and nyckelharpa. She has worked as a singer and harp player with diverse bands ranging from middle-age music to rock. After finishing her medical studies she lives and works in Vienna where she focuses on making music and on giving therapy with singing bowls.

Klara Schiffermüller
Fiddle
With a solid education on her instrument and a love for traditional music handed down in her family Klara has specialised in Irish, Scandinavian, French and other European fiddle traditions over the last 15 years. Apart from that singing in parts is a great passion of hers and W.i.t.Ch. is just the right band in this respect.

Birgit Glawischnig
Guitar and Accordion
Birgit plays her western guitar in normal tuning and in the folk-tuning DADGAD. For certain pieces in the W.i.t.Ch. repertoire she uses the compact sounds of her piano accordion. She arranges songs and writes tunes for the band and apart from W.i.t.Ch. she also plays with a band playing Austrian folk music and has started her solo career with fingerpicking style.

Andrea Fränzel
E-Bass
Something that tends to happen rather frequently: Andrea started to play bass at the age of 14 because the teenage rock band already had a guitar player...and she grew to like that part of laying a rhythmic-harmonic base so much that she decided to make it her career. In 2007 she also started playing the double bass which broadens her musical range from rock/pop and folk to the ample fields of jazz music.

Nicole Janß
Percussion and Bagpipe
Nicole has tried many an instrument before she realized that there actually is one part in music which demands numerous changes of instrument on stage in just one concert: percussion. Since then she works as percussionist and occasionally teaches percussion for Oriental Music, Celtic Music, Folk, world Music and Folkrock. With W.i.t.Ch. she uses bodhrán, darabuka, riqq, frame drums, djembe and cajón. Apart from that she also plays bagpipes and the soudn of her cornemuse du centre enriches our sound in some pieces of the repertoire.
